13th hole Hidden Valley Risk/Reward

Firstly, I believe that golf should be enjoyable for all levels of golfers.

I am committed to excellence in the design and construction of golf facilities. Craig Parry Design strives to create the best course possible to meet our client’s expectations, needs, etc. Our goal is to create a golf facility that is memorable, challenging, yet pleasurable to play for all levels of golfers. Through careful placement of different teeing areas, water hazards, bunkering, mounding, and multi-purpose fairways, we are able to achieve that goal. It is crucial in any design that the existing character of the land is retained to create an end product that compliments its features.

It should also be a risk reward situation, the more risk the great the reward for good shot making. If you hit a good shot you don't wont to be penalized by a bunker or water hazard. All to often today the architects have water hazards or bunkers on the golf course, then they grow rough inside the hazard to the fairway. It only penalizes the shot closer to the fairway.

All of the redesign work done at Hidden Valley was with Phil Ryan at Pacific Coast Design and his very hard working team.

14th hole Hidden Valley

The hole to the right is the new 14th hole at Hidden Valley, I think is a great hole that has a lot of options for everyone. If you wanted to play safe just go up the right side. This hole will be in play in the next few weeks that is why there is no flag and the mesh on the right.

Below is the work that was completed late in 2002 on the fairway bunkers on the 1st hole.
