The United States Open is the second Major of each Year. It is usually played during June. The US Open is run by the amateur body called the United States Golf Association. The U.S.G.A. also make the rules of golf in the USA and many other countries around the world. As far as the golf courses that I have played in the US Open, one common denominator is that it is always played on the most demanding courses. With narrow fairways, rock hard greens and plenty of thick rough everywhere. When playing a US Open you know you will make bogies and sometimes double bogies. What you must not do is change your game plan and go for unrealistic shots and make more bogies. That's when your patience and confidence gets put to the test as well.
I believe that this event has the best player for the week win the tournament. Because every part of your game gets the going over. Driving the ball must be straight, irons must be hit straight as well as the correct distance. Otherwise your short game will be put to the test. Then it comes down to putting, your approach shot must finish under the hole to have the best opportunity to make a birdie. Sounds pretty tough, well it is.
