The Open Championship is my favourite tournament. The Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St.Andrews have been making the rules of golf for over a few hundred years. The R& A are also the tournament organisers of The Open Championship usually played in July each year. As The Open Championship is played on a links course and close to the sea. The weather normally play's a part in The Open Championship at some point of the tournament. Normally you can bounce the ball short of the green and therefore keep it out of the wind. Tee off times start very early in the morning @ 7am going through to late in the afternoon as late as 4:30pm. Having a late time can sometimes be an advantage if the wind and rain is around in the morning and then blowing itself out by the late afternoon. The setup for an Open Championship is usually difficult but fair. Most of the time there is an opportunity to play safe. The only problem if you play safe is that it is almost impossible to make birdies. I have played well at times and very poorly at other times. I still love to play in The Open Championship.
