Sunshine Golf Club news article 18th hole Par4 (mens)352 mtrs (Ladies) 302mtrs
Sunshine Golf Club was where I started to play golf. I joined the club when I
was 10 years of age. I was hooked immediately. We had a junior competition every
Saturday morning. It was keenly contested by about 12 juniors ranging in ages
from 10yrs-18yrs. The new Sunshine Golf Club will be moving from its present location, to the west side of the freeway that Australand owns. Australand will then build the new course for the members. When the 18 holes have been completed, Australind will then develop the old Sunshine Golf Club into housing estate. It is definitely the best move for the club. The view from the clubhouse in the evening is one of the most impressive vistas of the city of Melbourne. As for the golf course, it has a ridge running through the property. 6 holes will be on the west side of the hill and 12 holes on the eastern side. One of the features of this site is the stone fences that surround the property. We will be making a stone wall that will come into play on the 11th hole running parallel to the left side of the fairway and ending at the green. It was inspired by playing North Berwick course in Scotland. 3rd hole tee shot with the city in the back drop
