Emirates Australian Open The Lakes Golf Club Course Card: Front Nine Par 35, 3051m Back Nine: Par 37, 3266 Defending Champion: Cam Davis
This week is the 103rd Australian Open golf tournament. The Lakes Golf Club as its name suggests is surrounded by lakes on the property. Front nine has only two holes that come into play (1& 8), whilst the back nine has 7 holes with water (10,11,13,14,15,16,17, &18). Bunkering is a rugged natural look with extremely long rough surrounding the bunkers. It can be very unfair at times and sometimes impossible to play. Greens have a lot of movement, making it very difficult to get the ball close to the hole especially if they become firm and fast. I have played in every Australian Open since 1984 where I was the leading amateur, Tom Watson was the victor that year at Royal Melbourne. My career highlight come in 2007 at The Australian Golf Club where I was able to win the championship for the 1st time. Hopefully this week lighting may strike again.
18th hole Par 3 191metres
